Giving the world the best of you not what is “left of you”!
All good things start from within you. When you take care of yourself, you can take care of others. To have healthy interactions and relationships with others, you have to have a powerful healthy relationship with yourself. This means taking care of yourself physically and mentally (self-care) and being kind to yourself (self-love).
Power Punch (Affirmation) of the Week
“I will love and care for myself”
Empowering Pro Tip of the Week
Reflect on your “cup” and what you are missing in your life then lay out a plan to help fill it.
Inspiring Quote of the Week
“True self-care is not bath salts and chocolate cake; it’s making the choice to build a life you don’t need to escape from.” [Brianna Wiest]
Something for those that like a little more …
While going through life with an empty “cup” only leaves space open for the wrong type of people who will most certainly take advantage of your vulnerabilities and you will often fill it with anything out of desperation, filling your own “cup” with what makes you most happy and fulfilled leaves you open much healthier interactions with others. I know this from personal experience.
Self-care can look like many things, it could be creating boundaries, surrounding yourself with the right people, going to the spa, going to the gym, being active, being social, eating healthier, continuously learning, and exploring the world.
This also includes speaking to a therapist to work through things that hold you back or even a coach to help you plan your pace. It looks differently to different people but forge out your own journey and figure out how to fill your cup. These actions will help you appreciate and love yourself which is the ultimate gift you can give yourself.
